Dr. Laura Maillard B.Sc., DVM
Dr. Laura was born and raised in France, and moved to the US in California, at age 11 with her family. In 2004, she and her family moved to Tucson, AZ, where she fell in love with the Sonoran desert. Through high school and college, Laura managed her own horse boarding business and raised goats, chickens, and rabbits, in addition to the family dogs and cats.
Dr. Laura graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in 2014. She then moved to colder climates to attend veterinary school at Washington State University just graduating this spring.
Her main areas of interest are pain management, geriatric care, feline medicine and public health. She values a team-based approach between the medical team and pet parents, and fosters relationships based on trust, open communication, sharing of knowledge, and compassion.
Dr. Laura’s ultimate favorite animals are goats – she continues to care for 3 of them, all of whom enjoy hiking and packing in the desert. The goats share their crew with one unique chicken and 3 cats. In her spare time, Dr. Laura enjoys horseback riding, hiking, painting, playing the piano, and sharing hearty French meals with her family. Back to about us .
